Becca Winfree, PhD

Becca Winfree is a neurocomputational and bioinformatics scientist. She completed her Ph.D.  from Vanderbilt University in the department of Pharmacology in 2022 with a background in molecular neuroscience and drug discovery. Her research explores mechanisms of neuroimmune and microglial dysfunction in Alzheimer’s disease using multi-omic approaches. She currently lives in Hendersonville, TN which is not far from Nashville, and in her free time she enjoys swimming in the lake nearby, playing the piano, and painting (sometimes science-themed paintings). Becca was born and raised in the Bay Area, CA and moved to the Nashville area when she was fifteen.
